Private Ski & Snowboarding Lessons in Gulmarg

Personal coaching adjusted to your pace, skill level, and skiing or snowboarding goals. Build early balance and go on to ride advanced off-piste powder lines off Apharwat Peak.

Overview

Choose the fasted, most focused way to learn

Private coaching gives you the undivided attention of a seasoned local guide, whether you’re skiing or snowboarding for the first time, learning to traverse intermediate terrain, or riding Gulmarg's high-alpine powder bowls.

In a private session, there are no group compromises. Your instructor watches every turn, identifies subtle weight shifts and stance errors in real time, and adapts the pacing to how fast or comfortably you progress.

Why us

What makes private coaching worth it?

  • Dedicated attention

Get focused coaching, with your instructor quickly spotting errors in stance, edge pressure, and balance, so you build the right habits from day one.

  • Customized to your ability

Every lesson is built around your comfort level, fitness, and goals, whether that means practicing beginner drills on base slopes or riding steep powder lines from Gondola Phase 2.

  • Faster progression

Students learn twice as fast in private sessions. You skip the waiting time of group lessons and focus more on refining your techniques.

  • Quiet, uncongested slopes

Your guide chooses less-crowded slope sections and quieter tree-line runs away from busy group classes, giving you the space to practice with confidence.

  • Certified mountain guides

Train with Gulmarg locals with 15+ years of skiing and snowboarding experience who understand snowpack variations, terrain safety, and guide you with utmost patience.

  • Flexible pacing and breaks

Move at your own speed. Spend more time making challenging edge transitions or power ahead to steeper terrain the moment you feel ready.

FAQs

Answers to common questions

Can my friend or partner join my private lesson?

Yes. You can book a 1:2 private session for couples or friends or a private family group (up to 4 people). For the best experience, we recommend that everyone in the group have a similar skill level so your instructor can maintain a steady learning pace.

Is equipment rental included in private lessons?

Equipment packages can be booked together with your private lesson. If you need gear, our team provides full fitting assistance at our equipment center, covering skis/snowboards, boots, bindings, helmets, goggles, and waterproof outerwear.

Are private lessons suitable for young children?

Absolutely. Private lessons are the safest and most effective way for kids (aged 5+) to learn. Our instructors provide patient, encouraging, one-on-one supervision with frequent mini-breaks to keep training fun and safe.

Can a private instructor guide me on Gondola Phase 2 (3,800m)?

Yes. If you’re an intermediate or advanced rider looking to explore Gulmarg’s high-altitude bowls and deep powder off Phase 2, our certified local mountain guides provide terrain navigation, line selection, and safety coaching.

What time do private lessons start?

Full-day lessons typically run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (with a 1-hour lunch break). Half-day sessions can be scheduled in the morning (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM) or afternoon (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM). Start times can be adjusted slightly based on your preferences.

What if bad weather closes the gondola?

If high winds or heavy snowfall close upper lifts, your instructor will adapt your session to lower chairlifts, nursery slopes, or sheltered tree-line terrain so your coaching continues uninterrupted.
